Join me for Outward Bound California's 2020 Rally for Resilience!
I am participating, because it is an event that will challenge, restore, and give back to my community. This is an opportunity to do something that will benefit both myself and underserved youth in San Francisco. All funds raised will finance Ropes Course programs, which are free of charge for most students from OBCA’s partner schools. OBCA's new ropes challenge course, built this year in partnership with San Francisco Recreation and Parks Department in McLaren Park, will provide outdoor leadership training to students right in their backyards.
OBCA is working to break down barriers and increase access for students from under-resourced communities and for those disproportionately affected by systemic racism, school closures, and lack of access to safe outdoor spaces. The ropes course was developed specifically to challenge students in ways that build badly needed leadership and teamwork skills and self confidence.
This is unlike any other event OBCA has ever hosted! By participating in it, we challenge ourselves and students in ways that benefit both of us in this very difficult time, and we provide funds to enable today’s youth to satisfy the healing, basic human need for access to the outdoors. That’s why I need your support!
Any amount you can donate will help young people from economically vulnerable communities to get outside, challenge themselves, and discover that there is more in them than they realize. Even in this virtual space, we can be #ResilientTogether. What will YOU rally for?
Sincerely, Doug
