Please join me for Outward Bound California's 2020 Rally for The Ropes Course!

I’m raising funds to benefit the students we serve. For my personal Rally challenge, I going to row, bike or run AND meditate each day of the 15 day challenge (Oct 16-30). I'm also raising money to honor Jim Conniff (Jimbo), my uncle and longtime Outward Bound staff member on Hurricane Island in Maine.

Whatever I am able to raise will help support our newly build Outward Bound Ropes Course in McLaren Park in San Francisco. Your support will enable equitable access to this awesome new facility, where we will provide outdoor leadership training to youth right in their neighborhood. McLaren Park, adjacent to some of the most under-resourced neighborhoods in San Francisco, is an under-utilized gem.

OBCA is breaking down barriers to increase access, particularly for students from under-resourced communities and those disproportionately affected by systemic racism, school closures, and lack of access to the outdoors.

With gratitude,
Ed

Why Outward Bound?
As you may know, I am a board member of Outward Bound California. We have some history with Outward Bound as Eve and I met on an Outward Bound Course in Costa Rica in 1997 (see photo below) and I also spent time hanging around Outward Bound instructors as my uncle Jim Conniff was the longtime caretaker on Hurricane Island in Maine. Our son Reed has been on Outward Bound courses in the High Sierra and in the Pacific Northwest. We believe in the OB mission – change lives through challenge and discovery – and are now particularly focused on getting underserved youth out on course.

Outward Bound California's FEIN is 26-4206241. Upon donating, you will be emailed a donation receipt for your record. To learn more, go to OBCA.org
